Jakarta: Deepika Pallikal, Joshna Chinappa and Sourav Ghosal entered the semifinals of the Asian Games squash events and assured themselves of at least a bronze medal here on Friday.
Deepika outplayed Misaki Kobayashi of Japan 3-0 in the women's singles quarterfinals. She will play Malaysian legend Nicol David for a place in the final.
Joshna saw off Hong Kong’s Joey Chan 3-1 and set up a semifinal clash with Malaysian Sivasangari Subramaniam.
Ghosal railed to down compatriot Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu 3-1 in the last-eight clash. He will take on Honmg Kong’s Chun Ming Au in Friday's semifinals.
Deepika had won a bronze in the last edition at Incheon, while Ghosal had picked up a silver.
