Ingredients
1 cup thinly sliced bilimbi fruit (not too ripened)
15 red onions
1 pinch of turmeric powder
½ teaspoon chilli powder
2 sprigs of curry leaves
1 ½ tablespoons of coconut oil
Salt (as required)
½ cup grated coconut

Preparation
Begin by washing and thinly slicing the bilimbi fruit
Ensure uniformity in size to ensure even cooking
Peel the red onions and chop them into slices
Now combine well the bilimbi fruit, red onions, turmeric powder, chilli powder, and curry leaves, after pouring one tablespoon of coconut oil and sprinkling the required salt
Heat a pan after pouring ½ tablespoon of coconut oil
Add the prepared mix into it and stir well
Add the grated coconut and continue stirring
Cook in low flame for 5 to 6 minutes after closing it with a lid
Serve the bilimbi thoran hot as a delightful side dish with steamed rice or as an accompaniment to your favourite main course
