One of the most sought-after varieties of halwa is wheat halwa, which is not only easy to make but also a treat to your taste buds. This rich and aromatic sweet dish is often prepared during festivals or on special occasions. It can be prepared in a flash with minimum ingredients. Let’s see how:
Ingredients
1 cup wheat powder
2 cups of jaggery powder
1 cup ghee
1 tsp cardamom powder
1 tsp cashew nuts
Preparation
Mix jaggery powder with two cups of water, and keep it aside
In a separate pan, roast nuts in a spoon of ghee and cake it aside
In the same pan, roast the wheat in half a cup of ghee, on a low flame
The process can take up to 10 minutes, wait for its aroma to emerge
Meanwhile, make the jaggery syrup by heating it on a low flame
Sieve the melted jaggery and pour the syrup into the roasted wheat powder
Keep stirring the mix
Now add the roasted cashew nuts, the remaining ghee and stir the mix well
Continue cooking the mixture on low to medium heat until it thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan
Shift the halwa to another vessel after rubbing oil on the surface
Allow it to cool
Scoop it onto a plate or into individual bowls and serve
