How about making a healthy fruit pudding at home without using the traditional custard? Here we unlock the full potential of fruits by replacing custard with natural arrowroot powder, allowing their natural sweetness and textures to take center stage. Add sugar only if required as the dessert is mainly prepared using honey and fruits:
Ingredients
1 ½ litres of milk
2 to 3 tablespoons arrowroot powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
4 tablespoons of sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla essence
2 small bananas
1 apple
1 pomegranate
10 dates
4 tablespoons honey
Preparation
Take arrowroot powder in a bowl, pour two spoons of milk into it, and mix well
Pour the remaining milk into a large vessel and boil the same
When it starts boiling, add the arrowroot mix into it and stir well
Add a pinch of turmeric powder for colour
Now add adequate sugar and keep on stirring till it boils well
Add vanilla essence and switch off the flames
Keep it aside to cool
Cut fruits into small pieces
Take the seeds out of the dates and slice it too into tiny pieces
Now arrange the glasses
First, put the fruit slices, then the dates, and finally the milk mixture in layers
Pour honey over the mix in the glasses and keep them in the fridge to cool for half an hour before serving
