Apple pie is a traditional English dessert that is often served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. A tasty apple pie can be the centrepiece on the dining table for your special Christmas lunch. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients
For the crust
3 tbsp powdered sugar
2 -3 tsp cold water
½ tsp salt
1 cup unsalted cold butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
For the filling
½ tsp cinnamon powder
2 tsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp sugar
2 small apples (cut into small pieces)
For decorating
1 tsp lemon juice
5 apple slices
1 tsp cinnamon powder
2 tsp sugar

Preparation
Sift the all-purpose flour and powdered sugar into a bowl
Into it add the unsalted cold butter
Mix well using your palm
Add some water and mix into soft dough
Cover this dough using a cling film
Keep it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes up to an hour
Meanwhile, heat butter in a pan
Add the apple slices, cinnamon powder and sugar
Mix for 3 -4 minutes until the apple slices are soft
Lightly mash these apple slices and keep them aside
For decorating the pie, mix the apple slices, lemon juice, cinnamon powder and sugar in a bowl
Heat this for 4 -5 minutes in a microwave oven
Take a 7 inches pie tin and spread the refrigerated dough in it
Prick the dough using a fork
Add the apple filling
Now decorate the pie using the apple slices that were heated in the microwave
Rub some butter on top and sprinkle sugar as well
Bake for 25-30 minutes in a preheated oven of 150 degree Celsius
Spread apricot jam on the baked apple pie for that extra flavour
Delicious apple pie is ready
