The clinking of glasses and the pouring of wine is synonymous with the warmth and joy of Christmas celebrations the world over. Whether you’re sipping by the fireplace, raising a glass for the toast, or pairing wines with a festive feast, the versatility of wine makes it an integral part of the festivities. Pineapple wine is a delightful and tropical beverage that can be easily prepared at home in just five days. With minimal ingredients and simple steps, you’ll be sipping on your own batch of pineapple wine in no time. Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients
1 kg ripe pineapple
800 grams sugar
2 litres of water
1 piece of cinnamon
4 pieces of clove
2 pieces of cardamom
1 teaspoon yeast
3 tablespoon wheat
Preparation
Peel and core the pineapple
Cut it into small chunks and place them in a large container
Add sugar, cinnamon, clove, cardamom, water and boil the mix
Cook the pineapple chunks for five more minutes in low flame and keep aside the mix to allow it to cool
Pour the wine mix into a vessel, or bottle to store it
Now add yeast and the wheat and stir it well
Seal the vessel tight with a light-coloured cloth, preferably white
The cloth chosen should be such that it should allow the gases to escape
Place the vessel in a cool, dark place, allowing the pineapple wine to ferment
Next day, stir the mix with a skimmer and again place it in a dark place
Follow this process for four days
On the fifth day, stir the wine like this and then sieve the wine using a sift
Here, the super tasty pineapple wine is ready!
(Make sure that the skimmer and everything used to stir the wine is dry)
