Though sulaimani was synonymous with the Malabari version of chai in the earlier days, its popularity has grown manifold now across the state. What about celebrating the International Tea Day today, sipping on a cup of sulaimani? Here's the recipe:
Ingredients
1 tsp of strong tea dust
1-2 tsp of lemon juice
4 mint leaves
1/2 tsp green cardamom
4 cloves
4 cinnamon sticks
5 tsp of sugar
2 cups of water
Preparation
Boil the water in saucepan
Add the spices just before it reaches the boiling point
Let it boil for a minute
Add tea dust and sugar
Let the tea be dark and give a strong aroma
Strain into another pot, add lemon juice
Stir well
Add mint leaves as per your liking
Serve the tea hot
