What is your favourite combination with appam and bread ? Yes, as Keralites we always relish the combination of chicken stew with appam or bread. But now here we are going to introduce a new taste that will be a yet another good match for these and that is nothing but the ever delicious fish molee
Ingredients
250 gram fish
1 tbsp of chopped ginger
1 tbsp of chopped garlic
2 green chillies
1 onion
1 tomato
Curry leaves
3 tbsps of coconut oil
1/4 tbsp pepper powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp garam masala powder
1-2 tbsp lemon juice
3/4 cup of coconut milk (first extract)
1 cup of coconut milk (second extract)
Salt to the taste
Ingredients to marinate fish
1/2 tsp of pepper powder
Pinch of turmeric powder
Salt as needed
I tbsp of lemon juice
Preparation
Marinate the fish with pepper powder, turmeric powder, salt and lemon juice and let it sit for half an hour
Shallow fry the fish and keep it aside
Use the same oil in which we fried fish to sorte ginger, garlic and green chilli.
Add chopped onion and curry leaves into it
Add pepper powder, turmeric powder and garam masala along with one cup of coconut milk ( second extract) and mix it well
To this, add the fried fish and tomatoes with enough salt and cook it covered for 10 minutes in low flame
Add coconut milk ( first extract) to it
Add more curry leaves and pepper powder and turn off the flame.
