Young starlet Ahaana Krishnakumar has shared a glimpse of her healthy eating habits by posting the pictures of her having broccoli soup and garlic bread. She has shared the pictures with an equally impressive caption, “Broccoli Soup for the Heart, Garlic Bread for the Soul”.

While clear soups are made using chicken or beef stocks or broths, fresh cream and purees are the main ingredients in thick soups. The light texture that is easy on the stomach and the nutrient rich ingredients make soup one of the most preferred foods in the world. Moreover, it is incredibly easy to cook and serve soups. Both kids and adults enjoy soup as it is easy to digest too.

Cream of broccoli
Ingredients
Olive oil
1 tbsp chopped garlic
1 tbsp white onion
1 tbsp leak
1 tbsp celery
4 sprigs thyme
Broccoli
Vegetable stock
1 cup fresh cream
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp white pepper powder
Preparation
Heat olive oil in a pan
Sauté the finely chopped garlic, white onion, leaks, celery ad thyme
Into it add the broccoli florets
Pour vegetable stock
Mix well
Pass the soup through a strainer
Take the cooked broccoli and some more stock in a mixer jar
Blend well
Meanwhile, mix fresh cream, salt and white pepper in the strained stock
Into it add the broccoli puree
Mix well
Broccoli soup tastes best when served hot.
Crunchy garlic bread
Ingredients
¼ cup lukewarm water
½ tsp yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 cup all purpose flour
½ tsp oregano
½ tsp chilli flakes
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
3 tbsp butter
2 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)
1 tsp chopped garlic
¼ cup mozzarella/cheddar cheese
2 tbsp chopped bell pepper
Oregano
Chilli flakes
Peri peri masala
Preparation
Take sugar, yeast and lukewarm water in a small bowl
Mix well and keep aside for 10 minutes for the yeast to get activated
Meanwhile, mix the all purpose flour, oregano, chilli flakes, garlic powder and salt in another bowl
Into it add the activated yeast mix
Pour enough water too
Mix well into soft and sticky dough
Add some butter and mix for at least 10 minutes
Keep this dough aside for 1 - 2 hours
When the dough is raised, add some more all purpose flour
Mix well for 5 more minutes
Make balls from it and roll into thick sheets
Meanwhile, mix butter, coriander leaves and garlic in another bowl
Brush this on the dough
Place grated cheese on top
Add bell peppers, oregano and chilli flakes
Fold the dough and secure the edges by rubbing some water
Brush the garlic - butter mix on the top too
Sprinkle oregano, chilli flakes and peri peri masala
Spread butter paper in a baking tray
Place the garlic bread on it
Score on the dough using a thin knife
Bake for 15 - 20 minutes in a pre heated oven of 180 degree Celsius
The bread would turn golden and crispy
The baking time would vary depending upon the oven and the ingredients.
