Ingredients
1 cup broken wheat
½ cup shallots (finely chopped)
½ tsp ginger (finely chopped)
5 green chillies
1/3 tsp turmeric powder
1 cup of mixed vegetables
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tbsp oil
Curry leaves
Salt as required
Preparation
Dry roast the broken wheat on medium flame
Wash the roasted broken wheat after it has cooled down completely
Pressure cook the broken wheat with 1 ½ cups water and ¼ tsp salt until 2 whistles
Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds
Sauté the shallots, ginger, green chillies and curry leaves
Into it add the mixed vegetables, turmeric powder and salt
Sauté well
Now add the cooked broken wheat
Pour ½ cup water as well
Cook for 10 minutes on low flame
Stir occasionally
Nutritious broken wheat pilaf is ready.
