Steamed pudding

Sweet and delicious, this steamed dessert is light and perfect to end a sumptuous meal. The lemon zest adds a tangy flavor which cuts through the sweetness. Check out this easy recipe of steamed pudding.

Ingredients
200 gm softened butter
3 tbsp golden syrup
1 cup all purpose flour
1 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
200 gm brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp baking powder
A pinch of salt
Lemon zest, as required

Preparation
Grease a glass bowl with butter and smear the golden syrup inside
You can use caramel instead of golden syrup
Sift all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt together through a sieve
Into it add the rest of the butter and the brown sugar, eggs, baking powder, salt, and lemon zest
Mix well
Using a ladle, pour this mixture slowly into the greased glass bowl
Cover this bowl using an aluminum foil and secure it by tying a twain around it
Pour water into a pan and immerse the glass bowl into it
Close the lid and cook for at least one and half hours in steam
Make sure that the boiling water doesn't get into the glass bowl with the pudding batter
Also, ensure that the water doesn't get fully evaporated. Add hot water if required
Cut the steamed pudding into pieces and serve
Garnish the pudding by drizzling some chocolate sauce or caramel on top of it.
