Crispy Thai prawns are an incredibly delicious starter that is loaded with flavours. The perfect blend of sweetness and tanginess from the special sauce and the buttermilk is what makes this a winning dish. Here is how you could easily make crispy Thai prawns.
Ingredients
2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
2 tsp Tabasco sauce
2 garlic cloves (crushed)
½ cup mayonnaise
½ cup thick butter milk
500 gms prawns
¼ cup all purpose flour
½ cup corn flour
¼ tsp chilli powder
¼ tsp black pepper powder
Salt as required
Oil to fry
Chopped spring onion to garnish
Preparation
Prepare the sauce by mixing the sweet chilli sauce, Tabasco sauce, crushed garlic and mayonnaise
Keep this sauce in the fridge
Mix the all purpose flour, corn flour, chilli powder, black pepper powder and salt to prepare the coating
Dip the cleaned prawns in the buttermilk and shake off the extra
Now coat them with the all purpose flour mixture
Heat oil in a pan and fry the prawns for at least 3 minutes
Place the fried prawns on a tissue paper to remove excess oil
Transfer the fried prawns into a huge bowl and pour the previously prepared sauce over it
Shake the prawns a few times to coat it nicely with the sauce
You could save some sauce as a dipping as well
Garnish with chopped spring onions.
