Deliciously plump rose apples are often found aplenty in our backyards. The fruit, which has 70% water content in it, is a store house of calcium, vitamin A, CE, D -6, D -3 and K. Rich in healthy fibers, rose apples are excellent to fight diabetes as well. Those who are trying to shed some extra flab should include this sweet-tangy fruit in their diet.
Cakes and wines made using red apples are extremely delicious. However, these food items should be consumed in limited portions as the amount of sugar added in it would be more. It would take up to at least a month for the rose apple wine to get tasty and flavoursome.
Ingredients
1 kg rose apples
1 kg sugar
1 tsp yeast
1 tsp wheat grains
Preparation
Wash the rose apples and dry it
In a clean mud jar, sprinkle some sugar first
Add the rose apples on top of it
Repeat the layers
The layer of sugar should come on the top
Seal the jar using a piece of clean cloth
Shake the jar everyday
After 20 days, add yeast and wheat grains into the mud jar
Seal it again
Shake the mud jar every day for 15 more days
Squeeze the rose apples well to extract maximum flavor
Sieve the wine through a piece of clean cloth
Adding 1/2 cup of caramelized sugar will give it a bright golden hue
Store in air tight glass bottles.
