Who wouldn't go for sweet unniyappams? The ingredients of raw rice, jaggery and ripe plantains make the round balls soft too. These are the traditional ingredients. Here’s unniyappam of a different make… with maida and egg. Here we go.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cup maida
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cardamom powder
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tbsp chopped cashew nuts
Oil for frying
Water as needed
Preparation
Add sugar, maida and water to the eggs
Beat the mixture well
The batter should not be too loose
Mix in the powdered cardamom, cumin and chopped nuts
Set aside for a while
Pour oil into the unniyappam mould
Allow it to turn hot
Ladle in the batter and fry both the sides
Drain out the excess oil
Transfer to the serving plate and enjoy
