A fun dessert, make 'em for the kids
It's one of the fun desserts that everyone would love! Make these easy jellies that your little ones will adore.
Ingredients
For orange jelly
2 cup orange juice
¼ cup sugar (add more if needed)
3 tsp gelatin
3 tbsp water
1 cup orange pods, seed and film removed
For the custard
1 cup milk
2 tbsp sugar
¼ cup cold milk
2 egg yolks
1 tbsp corn flour
Salt, a pinch
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla essence
Preparation
To make jelly
Add sugar to orange juice and transfer to a bowl
Place inside another vessel of boiling water and heat by double boiling method
Soak the gelatin in 3 tbsp water for 15 minutes
Place inside boiling water and melt by double boiling method
Pour the molten gelatin over the juice mixture in the stove and stir well
Remove from stove, beat and blend well
Keep in fridge after it cools down. Take it out and beat again when partially set Add orange pods gently to it and mix. Keep back in fridge to set
Overturn it on a plate and serve with cream or custard
To make the custard
Mix milk and sugar in a saucepan and heat on low flame
Take egg yolk and cold milk together in a plate and beat well
Add corn flour and salt to it
Add boiled milk to it and beat well
Add butter and stir
Place this bowl inside hot water and allow to solidify through double boiling method
It will be ready when the custard solidifies and the mixture starts sticking to the bottom of the spoon
Turn off the flame
Add vanilla essence and stir
It can be used cold. Other fruits can be also used in place of orange
