Made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic, hummus is originally a Levantine and Egyptian dip. Though it is mostly served with pita bread, you can always experiment with quirky combos- like this one with grilled chicken.

Ingredients
For chicken
2 chicken breasts
Lime extract
10 fresh cardamoms (green)
10 cloves
1 tbsp pepper powder
2 cinnamon sticks
1 tbsp cumin
12 cloves garlic
1 tbsp chilli powder
½ tsp nutmeg powder
1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 cup curds
1 tsp salt
Oil as required
For hummus
200 gm chick pea (soaked)
1 cup lime extract
1 cup sesame
1 tbsp lemon rind
1 tsp salt
Olive oil
Preparation
For chicken
Make small cuts on the chicken
Rub in lime extract and salt
Powder cardamoms, cloves, pepper, cinnamon, cumin, garlic cloves, powdered nutmeg and red chilli
Add red wine vinegar, curds, oil and salt and blend well with a hand mixer
Rub the masala onto the chicken breast and refrigerate for three hours and fry them
For hummus
Grind chick pea, lime extract and salt in a mixer grinder
Add sesame seeds, olive oil and ice water and grind again
Grind once again after adding lemon rind and olive oil
