The term smoked food always brings to mind images of spicy chicken legs or veggies with that slightly burnt texture. And soups are definitely not one of them. But believe us, if you are a fan of the smoky flavor, just bring it into literally everything- especially this creamy tomato soup flavored with delicious capers and fresh basil leaves.

Ingredients
2 tbsp capers
2 tomatoes, chopped
6 leaves of holy basil
1 onion, chopped
4 tbsp chopped garlic
4 tbsp chopped parsley, celery and leeks
1 carrot, sliced
1 tbsp ground black pepper
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt as required

Preparation
Heat a pan pour the olive oil
Add garlic, onions, leeks, celery and parsley and capers to the pan
Saute it well on low flame
Add carrots and tomatoes after a minute
Add some salt, freshly crushed black pepper
Mix well and allow it to cook for some time
Add water and bring it to boil
When it boils, cook it on simmer for 20 minutes
Cool down the cooked mixture and blend it well in a mixer grinder
Boil it again
Add some basil leaves
Meanwhile, in a large skillet, place some charcoal embers in a small pot
Partially cover the skillet with aluminum foil, keeping the charcoal pot inside
Pour the soup to the skillet around the charcoal pot
Add some capers to the soup
Add some butter to the charcoal and immediately cover the skillet and pot with aluminium foil
Keep it tight for 10-15 minutes
Transfer the soup from the skillet
Garnish with basil leaves and capers before serving
