Ingredients
For the pudding
30 gm cocoa powder
170 gm caster sugar
200 ml milk
1 egg
60 gm butter
140 gm all-purpose flour
15 gm baking powder
2 gm salt
For sauce
15 gm cocoa powder
200 gm brown sugar
250 ml of water
5 ml vanilla essence
Preparation
For the cake
Preheat the oven to 180 degree Celsius
Beat butter and caster sugar together
Add the egg and beat again until the mixture is smooth and creamy
To prepare the dry ingredients, sift the flour, cocoa, salt and baking powder together
Add it to the egg mixture step by step alternating with milk while beating the mixture
Pour this mixture to a grease proof bowl
For the sauce
Boil water, sugar and the remaining cocoa together
When it boils, turn down the heat and add vanilla essence, mix well
Pour this sauce over the cake batter
Place it in the preheated oven for 30 minutes
Slice and serve the pudding with cream or vanilla ice cream
