If you thought making chana masala needed time and patience, try this recipe; the liberal use of soy sauce adds just the right flavour to this easily made chickpea curry.
Ingredients
1 cup cooked chikpeas
1 cup fried onion slices
1 tbsp chilli powder
1 ½ tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp pepper powder
1 dsp minced garlic
Juice of half a lemon
¼ cup soy sauce
1 dsp butter
A few sprigs of coriander leaves
Water, as required
Preparation
Soak the chickpeas overnight and cook to three whistles in a pressure cooker
In a pan, heat oil, and add minced garlic, chilli powder, coriander powder and pepper powder. Saute well
Add the soy sauce and keep stirring
Now, add the fried onion slices
Stir well, and add in the boiled chickpeas
Blend well with the gravy and squeeze in the lemon juice
Stir well, add the butter and coriander leaves
Easy chana masala is ready
