Paal kanji – protein-rich gruel with the goodness of milk

Paal kanji or milk porridge is the ultimate porridge. In the past, warriors and bodybuilders took paal kanji' in Kerala, especially in Valluvanadu areas. Men of rich families also took occasional paal kanji meals to build body mass and boost energy.

Made with three types of milk, the rich gruel is a good source of calcium, which will increase your bone strength. It is a great source of protein also.

Ingredients
1 cup Njavara rice
1 cup goat milk
1 cup cow milk
1 cup buffalo milk

Preparation
Thoroughly wash the rice
Pour in goat milk, cow milk and buffalo milk to the rice and cook until the rice turns soft
