Have you ever imagined how the cakes would look like if they are made by an architect? Dinara Kasko, whose spectacular creations in cake are taking the social media by storm, has studied architecture. However, now, this young woman who hails from Ukraine is a full time cake designer and maker. She designs special 3D moulds to bake her amazing cakes. It is Dinara herself who makes the moulds and bakes and paints the cakes that look like stunning pieces of art. She is known, in the virtual world, as the architectural pastry chef.
Though Dinara’s cakes look breathtaking, many wonder whether they are edible. However, these cakes not only look amazing but tastes delicious too. You can even buy her custom made cake moulds online. Besides, Dinara conducts tutorials and workshops about the modern techniques in baking and cake designing.
Dinara confesses she loved eating sweets, pastries, desserts and ice creams as little girl. However, when she was fifteen she decided to become an architect as designing had caught her fascination. After completing her studies, she started working as an interior designer. But, she didn't leave her favorite baking aside. Dinara, who enjoyed serving delicious food in the most attractive way, for her family, thought that cakes are the dishes that best suit her passion. So, six years ago, when Dinara decided that baking was her way, she didn’t wait to start experimenting in it. She used the science and art that she learned to create visually stunning cakes and desserts. She soon started posting the pictures of her mesmerizing cakes on her Instagram handle.
Dinara also began thinking about making her own silicone moulds and about 3 D painting the cakes. Though she didn’t have much idea about the technology then, she was quick to learn more about it. Cake batter is poured into these custom made silicone moulds and frozen. 3 D printing has brought a revolutionary change in baking and pastry making that helped chefs create cakes and desserts that look ‘out of the world’.
Dinara's cherry cake making video has garnered more than 9 million views on the social media. Fresh cherries were first packed into a flimsy box to make the silicone mould of it. Then the batter is filled into this mould and frozen. The dessert is 3 D painted which adds a natural sheen as well. This dessert, that has become a phenomenon on the social media, looks as if a few bunches of cherries are stacked together. She gives her beautiful cakes unique names and descriptions that instantly draw attention. Stone diagram, Napoleon, Torres passion fruit, origami and American beauty cocktail are some of her popular creations. Dinara works with a brilliant team of architects and pastry chefs to make sure that her cakes and desserts are unique.
