Aromatic, milky, and frothy, the filter coffee is here for you to try!
Filter coffee is south India's pride. Aromatic, milky, strong and frothy, the filter coffee differs in taste and make from its 'instant' variant. To make the traditional filter coffee, you need the coffee making container. The container comes in two parts. The upper part is where the coffee powder goes. It gets filtered and collected in the lower container.
The decoction (filtered, liquid coffee) is then passed over to a tumbler (steel cup) to which boiled milk and sugar is added. It is easily made and delicious.

Ingredients
5-6 tsp filter coffee powder
1 ½ cups milk
Sugar, as required
Water, as required
Preparation
Assemble the filter coffee making container
In the upper container, put in the coffee powder
Level it by giving the container a light shake
Boil water in a saucepan
Pour boiling water into the upper container
Close with the lid and wait for the coffee to get filtered. It will take about 2 minutes
Once all the water has been filtered into the lower container, pour water once again into the upper container, a little less than the first time
Collect the decoction
Boil milk in a saucepan
Pour ¼ cup (or as required) filtered coffee into the tumbler (steel cup)
Pour in the hot milk
Add enough sugar
Now, pour from the tumbler to the davara (steel bowl) and back to make the traditional frothy filter coffee
