Chithra urges people not to fall prey to celebrity fraud in her name

Legendary singer K S Chitra has warned netizens not to fall prey to fraudsters who are allegedly seeking money from them through a Facebook account created in her name. The singer said she was alerted by friends about the messages they have been receiving in her name on social media. Many people had also expressed surprise on seeing such a message in Chitra's name.
According to her, the fraudsters introduce themselves as K S Chitra, a playback singer, who is also the 'brand ambassador of Reliance Industries Limited Investment Company.' The impostors then urge the victim to invest a sum of Rs 10,000, in Reliance Industries after assuring them that the shares would increase up to Rs 50,000 within a week. The fraudsters have also promised iPhones to Chitra fans. The singer urged people not to fall for the scam. There have been incidents of celebrity impostor scams with fraudsters creating fake social media accounts to scam people online.
