Though much has been said about the white coat warriors for their brave fight against pandemic, it's necessary that we keep reminding people about the invisible enemy - the coronavirus. And that is how Malayalam lyricist BK Harinarayanan decided to conceive a musical featurette, Ila.
According to makers, the musical featurette is a short-length film in which music is a predominant part of the narrative.
Ila is a different kind of tribute to thousands of healthcare workers who were infected with Covid-19 and those who had succumbed to it.
"We owe a lot to the healthcare workers. They kept us alive during the pandemic. Hence this musical featurette," Harinarayan said.
The 10-minute-long video song opens with the lead protagonist getting a call from her brother. Though she gets emotionally distrubed, it doesn't deter her from doing her duty as a doctor at Covid First Line Treatment Centre.
The video interestingly features actress Aparna Balamurali and writer BK Harinarayanan himself. Also seen are composer Bijibal and Peeshappally Rajeevan.
Produced by Shaju Simon under the banner of Vybes Media with MLA AC Moidheen, the music has been composed by Mithun Jayaraj and sung by Sithara Krishnakumar.
Manesh Madhavan is the cinematographer and Praveen Mangalath is the editor of Ila.
