Shreya Ghoshal is a sensation! It's no surprise to say that none can replace her and she's one of the best singers that our country has today.
It was at the age of 16 that this Bengali playback singer sang three songs for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 2002 film 'Devdas' which earned her a National Award for 'Bairi Piya'. In fact, she is probably the first North Indian singer to have won the Kerala State Film Award for 'Best Singer'.
Today, as she turns 35, we take a look at a few songs which proves that be it any language, she's the perfect choice for bringing out a hit number in every industry.
Malayalam
We have chosen the song 'Vidaparayukano' from the movie 'Big B' for two reasons – one it was through this song that Shreya made her entry into Mollywood and secondly for the emotional feeling the song carries. Listen to it by yourself:
Tamil
Shreya has several hit songs to her credit in Kollywood. We suggest you to hear, at least, 'Munbe vaa' from the movie 'Sillunu Oru Kaadhal' and 'Mannipaaya' from the 2009 film 'Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa'. The song had Shreya singing the duet with AR Rahman and who else can match with the maestro.
Telugu
Although the movie 'Rudhramadevi' was not a big hit, its songs definitely were. 'Punnami puvvai' is one song by Shreya which proved that she is the queen of all hearts just like Anushka Shetty who is seen singing it on screen.
Kannada
The sweet romantic track 'Ee Santhelu Siguva' Shreya sang along with Santosh Venky for the 2016 movie 'Sundaranga Jaana' also stands out.
Marathi
'Sairat' was a cult classic movie and so were its songs. That feeling of first love was reflected well in the song 'Aatach baya ka Baavarla' with the chorus of traditional women folk. Here's it.
Gujarati
'Maahi', the title song of the 2016 movie 'Romance Complicated', was a hit. All thanks to singer Shreya for the soulful melody.
Nepali
Yes, she has sung two Nepali songs and it's said that both were hits. We have the song 'Chhaechha Basanta' from the movie 'Only Love for You'.
Hindi
We don't want to talk about it as you have listened and watched it over the years. We just add 'Deewani Mastani' in the list.
