Mammootty, Sathyan Anthikad and Priyadarshan have been in the movie industry for more 40 years. These families share a lovely bond and have great respect for each other. The kids from these families, to the utter surprise of their parents, entered the movie industry, quitting their jobs. They were together the movie sets of Varane Avashyamund for more than 60 days which made them realize that they were indeed meant to be together. The love that their parents share has entered their genes as well which makes them buddies for life.
Dulquer Salmaan turns producer for the first time with the movie and he explains that this is a movie made by people who are deeply connected. The audience too would be able to feel that comfort.
“Things get stuck in your mind when it is explained by someone who is close to you,” said Dulquer.
Further he added, “Many scenes would be familiar from the situations at our own families. I and Anoop fought many times during the filming of the movie. Sometimes, we didn’t even talk to each other. One day, while we were fighting over the phone, my mother asked me why we were fighting. She told me to apologize to him. I told her that I wouldn’t apologize. Ummachi was upset whenever I fought with Anoop.
I didn’t fight with the director, but with a very close member of the family. All of us love each other very dearly. Whenever he comes home, he would draw a cat or something on a piece of paper and would gift it to my daughter Maryam. She has kept all of it. We feel a special comfort. Each day, we go to the sets with incredible happiness as if we are returning to our family.”
Talking about his co-star, Dulquer revealed that it was on the sets of the movie that he met Kalyani for the first time.
“I don’t know why it took so long. I am close to Appu and Maya (Mohanlal’s children). I even share a close relationship with Priyan uncle. But I missed Kalyani at somewhere. There had been lots of functions where both of us attended with our respective families. I didn’t meet Kalyani at any of these events. Maybe we have seen each other,” said Dulquer.
He also mentioned that Kalyani and his wife Amal knew each other as they have lots of common friends. “They even talk to each other. But, it seems Kalyani was hiding like little kids play hide and seek. I even feel awkward calling her Kalyani. I am used saying Ammu,” he said.
The movie, in fact, focuses on the events and characters that are related to Kalyani's character. And Dulquer heaped praises on Kalyani. He said, “The newcomers often think that everyone except them is doing great. It really makes you tensed as well. I could see that on Kalyani’s face on the first few days. All I said was, ‘Don’t worry, you are doing great’. Actually, words as simple as that could give you confidence. Kalyani has acted amazingly in this movie.”
Interestingly, after listening to the script, it was Dulquer himself who expressed his wish to be part of the movie. “Anoop was Lal Jose’s assistant while I was acting in Vikramadityan. I felt a unique spark in him then itself. I told him that he should let me know when he's planning to make a movie of his own. We even talked about a few subjects. But, nothing could be finalized. It was only later that Anoop came up with this story. When he narrated the plot I asked him whether I could produce it. I really liked the character as well. So, I even asked whether I could essay that role. In the beginning, mine was not a throughout character. I would have played the part even if it wasn’t extended. I felt a real connection with my character,” he concluded.
