Sarjano Khalid plays the role of Noel in the movie 'June'

The production company Friday Film House is known for bringing in fresh talents to Mollywood. After delivering 16 new faces in the hit movie 'Angamaly Diaries', the company headed by actor Vijay Babu is all set to launch another bunch of 16 youngsters with the upcoming movie 'June'. After the makers recently released a song 'Minni minni' from this Ahammed Kabeer directorial, all eyes were set on a handsome guy featured in the video. Actress Rajisha Vijayan, who plays the titular character June, is shown admiring him in the video.

The young guy is Sarjano Khalid, who is ubercool yet silent and a patient listener. Onmanorama gets candid with the newbie star Sarjano, which means 'creativity'.

The breakthrough

“I had seen the audition call invite on social media and decided to apply for it. It was through audition itself that I was selected for the role of Noel, who plays the school crush of June in the movie,” said the Kozhikode native.

“It's pure luck I feel and the movie is like a blessing for me in every way. Though the crew and cast were new, our production team and producer were really supportive,” he added.

The school life

The movie revolves around a girl right from her teens until she reaches 25 years. Her school life is vividly shown in the flick. Talking about the shoot, he said, “Till my Class 10, I did my schooling in Kerala and later shifted to Qatar for 11th and 12th. In the film, my character Noel is one who has studied abroad and returns to join a school in Kerala. The school life is the best phase for every individual and the film focuses on that phase very well.”

“Before we began filming 'June', we had a workshop which was helmed by actor-director Siddharth Siva. During that 10-15 days, all of us, including the lead actress Rajisha Vijayan, gelled together well. About 30 percent of film shoot was done on the premises of a school and we never felt that we were shooting but rather felt like school-going kids, attending classes, doing school activities and all,” he recalled.

Looking ahead

“Obviously there is tension but hope things go well. First let's see how 'June' takes off. The best part about 'June' is that the characters essayed by all newcomers have been given due importance, which is significant for debutants ike us,” he said.

He further revealed that he is looking for higher studies as well.

Interestingly, even before the movie hitting the screens, Sarjano has bagged two projects and chooses to be tight-lipped about it.
