The 63rd Filmfare Awards 2016 was held at Hyderabad Convention Centre on Saturday and the grand event was attended by celebs from South film industry.
Mammootty bagged the Best Actor Award in Malayalam for his realistic portrayal of Pallikkal Narayanan in Pathemari. He won the award against his son who was nominated in the same category for his performance in Charlie.
Actress Nayanthara too won the best actress award in Tamil for her role in Naanum Rowdy Dhaan directed by Vignesh Shivan.
Although the award ceremony is trending on social media, there is apparently something else that has caught the attention of everyone. It's widely discussed that Mammootty avoided Nayanthara when she came to shake hands with the superstar.
The photos from the event are making discussions among fans stating why Mammootty initially denied to acknowledge the presence of Nayanthara and shook hands later without even making any eye-contact.
Well, it seems Mammootty was playing a prank on the actress and the stars sitting next to him were trying hard to control laughter.
The duo have worked together in a couple of Malayalam movies, including Puthiya Niyamam, Bhaskar the Rascal, Rappakal and Thaskara Veeran.
