Tovino Thomas' latest Malayalam movie Oru Mexican Aparatha opened to a fabulous response from the audience in Kerala.
The movie, which hit screens on Friday, locked horns with Lijo Jose Pellissery's Angamaly Diaries. Most shows of Oru Mexican Aparatha were houseful on the opening day.
Directed by Tom Emmatty, the movie opened in 102 screens to a grand response due to the positive word-of-mouth feedback by the audience.
It collected a share of Rs 98 lakh with a gross amount of Rs 2.07 crore (approx.) in Kerala.
Meanwhile, from the six multiplexes in Kochi, with 28 Shows, Oru Mexican Aparatha earned Rs 7.61 lakh, with an excellent theater occupancy of 99.68 percent.
According to trade experts, the good advance booking might help in the weekend collection of the movie.

The film, which narrates a campus based story, is one of the big releases of this month and its campus backdrop has helped in bringing the youngsters en masse to theaters.
