Google Saritha and Google will throw a googly at you

We seem to be living in an era where people, mostly youngsters, are in the habit of asking (yeah, now even literally) Google about anything they want to know.

And Google has given us near-perfect answers, as evident in its growing influence this friendly search giant has over our lives in the past two decades. But even this super-creation can go wrong once in a while -- and hilariously.

Look at what a friend got when he Googled the word "Saritha." A seemingly harmless name with whom most of the news-following public in Kerala are only too familiar with, thanks to the solar scam. But there is one more Saritha well known to Keralites – an yesteryear actress who had won quite a few awards for her brilliant performances in south Indian movies.

Actress Saritha

The twist happened when the search page showed the Wikipedia page of Saritha (the actress) but placed images of Saritha (the prime accused in the scam) right on top. If someone who found "Saritha" trending on social media during the hearing of the solar scam probe and Googled her name, that poor soul should be pardoned for wondering why this acclaimed actress is being trolled.

There have been other instances too where our readers have found a mismatch between a person and the photo placed alongside on the Internet. Well, we are not saying Google defamed the actress but just humbly pointing out that the Internet is not the Bible. ☺☻
