Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan’s team has issued a statement requesting fans and media to refrain from speculation, as the police are already investigating the case involving Saif Ali Khan’s stabbing. According to the statement: “There was an attempted burglary in Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s residence last night.”
The statement further added: “Saif had an injury on his arm for which he is in hospital, undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is doing fine. We request media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the police are already doing their due investigations. Thank you all for your concern. Team Kareena Kapoor Khan.”
As per sources, Kareena and the couple's children were at home when the incident occurred. Saif’s team also issued a statement: “There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing a surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter.”
As per reports, Saif bravely confronted the intruder without a weapon to protect his family. The incident reportedly happened in the middle of the night. Despite the intruder being armed, Saif fought him unarmed to prevent any harm to his family, sustaining six stab wounds in the process, two of which are deep.
Dr Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, confirmed that Saif was brought to the hospital at 3.30 am following the attack at his Bandra residence. He stated: “Saif has six stabs, two of which are deep. One is close to the spine. He is being operated upon by a team of doctors led by Neurosurgeon Dr Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr Leena Jain, and anaesthesiologist Dr Nisha Gandhi.”
The Mumbai Police detained three individuals working at Saif’s residence for questioning. The intruder stabbed the actor six times before fleeing the scene.
An FIR has been lodged at the Bandra Police Station, and investigations are underway. Saif is currently undergoing treatment at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital, and the family has expressed gratitude for the concern shown by fans and the media.
