Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has criticised 'Game Changers' makers for inflating box office collection numbers. The director claimed that Shankar and his team deliberately lied about the opening figures and said such 'fraud' will undermine the extraordinary achievements of South gained through films like 'Baahubali' and 'KGF'. The controversial director also praised 'Pushpa 2' and wrote how he wants to fall on Allu Arjun and Sukumar's feet after seeing 'Game Changer'.

“After seeing Game Changer I want to fall on the feet of Allu Arjun and Sukumar. If SS Rajamouli and Sukumar sky rocketed Telugu cinema in real time collections into a fantastically stratospheric heights thereby sending legitimate shock waves into Bollywood, the people behind Game Changer succeeded in proving that the south is much more fantastic in being a fraud. I truly don’t know who’s behind this highly humiliating disgracing insult of undermining the extraordinary achievements of south thanks to 'Baahubali,' 'RRR,' 'KGF 2,' 'Kantara' etc and all of their achievements will be now in doubt because of Game Changer’s claims,” wrote Ram Gopal Varma. “I don’t know who’s behind this unbelievably naive lies , but for sure it can’t be producer Dil Raju because he is a truly grounded realist and he’s incapable of the fraud that is being committed,” he said.

The filmmaker also mocked the budget of Game Changer saying that if the movie was made on Rs 450 crore then 'RRR' must have cost at least Rs 4,500 crore for the film's grandeur.

The makers of 'Game Changer' recently released a poster claiming that the film collected Rs 186 crore on the first day. The team also released an official poster announcing the number. However, soon the makers were criticised for allegedly exaggerating the figures. Many social media pages claimed that the actual collection was just Rs 86 crore and the makers had unnecessarily inflated the collection.
