Actor Ajith Kumar has announced that he will not be signing any new film projects until the racing season concludes. In a recent interview, Ajith shared that he plans to focus on motorsports and will only take up film roles between October and March, before the racing season begins. Currently in Dubai for the 24H Dubai 2025 competition with his team, Ajith Kumar Racing, the actor explained his commitment to balancing both careers.
When asked if his racing commitments are part of his film contracts, Ajith responded, "No, I don’t need to be told what to do or what not to do. I plan to pursue motorsports—not just as a driver but also as a team owner. Until the racing season is on, I won’t be signing any films. Between October and March, before the racing season kicks off, I will focus on acting, so no one needs to worry, and I can fully commit to racing."
On being asked what specifically attracted him to the 24H Dubai 2025 race, Ajith explained, "If you look at the formats I have been racing in, they have been sprint races. These events involve one car and multiple drivers, and it’s not just about you. It’s about the car, the equipment, and saving them for your co-drivers. It’s a team sport."
Ajith’s determination remains unshaken, even after a recent car crash during a practice session on Tuesday, which left his car severely damaged. Despite the setback, the actor remained focused and continued with his training, practising driver change drills on Wednesday and fine-tuning strategies to enhance pitstop efficiency.
The 24H Dubai 2025 race is especially significant for Ajith Kumar as it marks his team’s competitive debut in the racing world. The race also signifies the beginning of an intense endurance campaign for both his team and his firm, which has partnered with Bas Koeten Racing for technical and logistical support.
