Actor Mohanlal recently shared that there was a time in his career when he contemplated quitting cinema. During a candid conversation with Suhasini Maniratnam, the veteran actor reflected on his journey and spoke about his son, Pranav, who he believes strikes a perfect balance between his love for acting and travelling. "At that age, I too felt like embarking on journeys just like him," Mohanlal remarked.
Recalling Pranav's early achievements, he said, "When he was in the sixth grade, Pranav won the Best Actor award at school. He has his own philosophies in life. He doesn't aspire to do a lot of films. His way is to immerse himself in travel and take up movies occasionally. That’s his choice, and we have no issues with it. Let him enjoy life."
Reflecting further, Mohanlal opened up about his own dreams as a young man. "When I shared my dream of entering cinema, my father told me to first complete my education and then pursue whatever I desired. Why should we control our children? At Pranav’s age, I had also dreamt of giving up cinema and travelling the world. I am happy that I’ve been able to realize some of my dreams through him," he shared with a sense of fulfilment.
