'Barroz' will have a worldwide release on December 25. The advance booking for the film has received good response. Mohanlal who is directing his first film in a career spanning 47 years said he wanted his debut project to cater to the family audience, especially children. Barroz which is the biggest movie bankrolled by Aashirvad Cinema will be major milestone in Indian cinema.

Mohanlal has directed 'Barroz' based on a story developed by visionary filmmaker Jijo Punnoose who directed 'My Dear Kuttichathan,' India’s first 3D movie. Guru Somasundaram, Mohan Sharma, Thuhin Menon are part of the ensemble cast, along with foreign actors, including Maya, Neesar and Laurente. Barroz will hit the theatres on December 25 almost five years after it went on the floors.
