Allu Arjun responds to allegations over Sandhya theatre tragedy, denies responsibility

Allu Arjun recently addressed the allegations blaming him for the tragic incident at the Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule'. In a press conference held on Saturday, the actor expressed his deep regret over the incident, calling it 'a very unfortunate accident' and refuted the accusations, claiming they were based on misinformation and an attempt to tarnish his character.

The actor extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the victims and shared updates on the condition of the child who was hospitalized following the stampede. "I’m deeply saddened by what happened. It was a tragic accident. I’ve been getting hourly updates on the child’s condition, and I’m relieved to hear that the child’s health is improving," he stated. "Unfortunately, there’s a lot of misinformation surrounding the incident, and I don’t want to place blame on anyone—whether it’s a department, a political leader, or the government. What’s happening to me is a direct attack on my character."

Allu Arjun further clarified his position on the matter, stating that he had no intention of inciting chaos. "I’m not accusing anyone or making political statements. The allegations against me are based on false information. The situation has been blown out of proportion," he said. "I have always respected the government, and I appreciate the recent decision to raise ticket prices. I just want to make it clear that I did not cause any disruption during the event."

The actor also responded to the intense scrutiny surrounding his actions, particularly following his presence at the premiere. "It’s hurtful to see these false claims. You’ve known me for two decades, and I would never act in such a manner. For the past 15 days, I’ve been quietly processing everything on my own. Despite my busy schedule, I’ve refrained from attending events, and I have not even seen my own movie in theatres yet. The emotional toll has been heavy, but I continue to console myself knowing I had no direct involvement in the tragedy. My thoughts remain with the victims, and I sincerely apologize for what happened."

Earlier, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made statements in the Assembly accusing the police of denying permission for the event at Sandhya Theatre due to safety concerns. Despite this, Allu Arjun reportedly participated in a roadshow, climbing onto the roof of his car, which allegedly escalated the situation at the venue.
