Even as the 29th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) garners positive feedback for the content, the updated booking app is earning praise for offering a smooth and hassle-free experience for the audience. Compared to previous years, complaints about the app and the difficulties faced during reservation process were minimal this year.
For the first time, this year a native app of IFFK was launched for iOS while updating the Android version. Developed by Centre for Development of Imaging Technology (C-DIT) an autonomous body under the Department of Electronics and IT, the app includes features like registration, schedule, details of screenings, reservations, and audience polls. It also allows users to book slots for the current and the next day, making the process easier for delegates.
"Earlier, the reservation process was always difficult and a real headache. But this year, everything was smooth. The best part is the new search button in both the schedule and reservation sections. It saves us a lot of time while booking," said a delegate.
The Android app had around 6,890 downloads, while the iOS version saw 2,570 downloads. A key improvement this year was in the reservation system, with focused work on the back end and service enhancements to provide a better user experience.
“The feedback from both the academy and delegates has been encouraging, but we’ve already started planning improvements for next year,” said Biju S B, Deputy Director, Informatics & WSD, C-DIT.
