'Sookshmadarshini' starring Basil Joseph and Nazriya Nazim is on its way to becoming a blockbuster. However, amid its successful run, the makers are battling piracy constantly. On Tuesday, the full version of the movie directed by M C Jithin, was leaked online by some unknown persons. The YouTube version was taken down eight hours after the film garnered 1.1K views. Director M C Jithin, told Onmanorama, that the film has been battling piracy since the third week of its theatrical release.
“Initially, Sookshadarshini's HD quality version was leaked on Telegram. This was taken down by our anti-piracy team. Hardly four days ago, we were notified that the film was leaked on YouTube. We tried to remove it at the earliest, but by then, the film had 10,000 views. It was surprising to see the film leaked online again yesterday,” he said.
Jithin added that the piracy issue is becoming more frequent, especially whenever films have a pan-Indian or a pan-world release. “Even Ajayante Randaam Moshanam faced the same issue,” he said. Jithin also suspects the print version was leaked online by people outside Kerala or India. “In Kerala, all the theatres are under strict supervision and control. I think our film is being targeted by people outside Kerala,” he said.
'Sookshmadarshini' is a Hitchcockian-style mystery drama filled with plenty of thrills and some laughs. The film also features Merin Philip, Akhila Bhargavan, Pooja Mohanraj, Siddharth and Deepak Parambol in lead roles.
