The Mohan Babu-Manchu Manoj family dispute recently turned ugly after a journalist who was covering the high drama at Mohan Babu's residence in Hyderabad got injured. Though the actors were asked to appear before the Rachakonda Police Commissioner on Wednesday, the father-son duo skipped the questioning.
The family dispute began when actor and former MP Mohan Babu accused his younger son Manoj of arriving at his residence with his wife to take over the family property. However, Manoj claimed that he has been living with Mohan Babu for some months now and found himself locked outside the house one day by his father, who deployed bouncers to prevent him from entering the residence. Manoj later broke into the house with the help of his private security men, claiming his daughter was inside. A few media persons had also entered the house at that time. Mohan Babu who was present inside the residence at that time attacked a journalist who asked him a question. Soon after, Manoj emerged outside the house, in torn clothes.
Meanwhile, Manoj who was reportedly injured by the bouncers deployed by his father sought treament for his injuries at a private hospital along with his wife. Manoj alleged that his father ‘treated him unfairly’ while consistently supporting his brother Manchu Vishnu in every venture. Manoj stated the allegations by his father are part of a deliberate effort to defame him, silence his voice and create unnecessary family strife.
Manoj claimed that he and his wife were financially independent and said he never relied on his family for financial support or sought any properties. “I never asked for properties or inheritance. I challenge anyone to provide evidence to the contrary,” he said. Manoj also alleged that his father consistently supported Vishnu in every venture while sidelining him.“Despite my sacrifices, I have been treated unfairly and subjected to defamation and harassment,” he said.
He also accused Vishnu of misusing family resources and relying on family name for personal gain. “I have always stood for truth, justice and family unity. My father’s vision inspired me as a child, and it continues to guide me today. My focus is on protecting the family’s name, ensuring transparency in financial and institutional matters, and safeguarding the well-being of those who have placed their trust in us,” he added.
Manoj said allegations were made against him after he publicly supported MBU students and local businesses who were being exploited by Vishnu and his associate Vinay Maheshwari. Mohan Babu’s family runs a chain of educational institutions in Andhra Pradesh. Manoj is Mohan's younger son from his second wife Nirmala Devi, while Vishnu and Lakshmi are his elder children.
