Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor recently faced severe backlash when his wife, actress Alia Bhatt, mentioned in an interview that he disapproves of her wearing lipstick and asks her to remove it. This led to netizens labelling him as 'toxic' and a 'red flag'. Finally, Ranbir has addressed this issue in a recent interview.

Ranbir expressed that he's okay with being seen as the 'face of toxic masculinity'. He acknowledged that people have formed a certain image of him based on the roles he portrays on screen and that he's learned to take criticism with a pinch of salt. He also noted that he can easily avoid negativity and trolling by staying off social media but believes that, just like positive feedback, negative feedback is crucial for an artist's growth and self-evaluation.

Regarding the controversy surrounding the lipstick comment, Ranbir said, "I was reading some article about being toxic and something related to some statement I made, and I understand this. I am on the side of those who are advocating against toxic masculinity. If they choose to use me as the symbol for their cause, it's fine because their fight goes beyond me feeling offended by their opinions about what I said."
