Actor Kunchacko Boban wrote a heart-touching note on the birthday of his father Boban Kunchacko sharing an old photograph.

The actor wrote on social media that wishing his father on his birthday was special this time. "From a boy who was opposed to being part of movies to a human being who cannot live even a second without cinema because of the burning desire...from a boy who could never think of staying in films even for a year to a man who has completed 25 years in cinema...from a boy who disliked the name 'Udaya' to a man who produced the second film under the same banner..." he wrote.

'Appa...you instilled in me the desire and love for cinema without me realizing it. Whatever I have earned and learned was from the basic lessons you taught me. I still learn about cinema, friendship, love and life from you.' he wrote.

Udaya Studio was established in 1947 and Boban Kunchacko's father Kunchacko produced its first film 'Vellinakshatram in 1949. The movie had not produced desired results. However, the film 'Jeevitha Nouka' produced a couple of years later was a huge hit. It was screened to packed houses for 265 days. It was Udaya that first portrayed the hues of Vadakkan Pattu, the celebrated folksongs of Kerala, on the silver screen.

After the death of Kunchacko in 1976, his son Boban Kunchacko took over and produced films under the banner of Udaya. 'Anashwara Gaanangal', produced in 1966 was its last movie until 2016 when Sidhartha Siva directorial 'Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho' was released as the 67th movie of the studio. His second movie as a producer is 'Ariyippu', which is under production with Mahesh Narayanan as the director.
