Actress Lakshmi Priya debuts as scriptwriter through 'Aarattu Mundan' to be directed by her husband P Jai Dev, who is the son of noted musician Pattanakkad Purushothaman. The movie went on the floors with Alappuzha MP, AM Arif and H Salam, MLA lighting the lamp at a ceremony held at Coral Heights in Ambalapuzha.
According to Lakshmi Priya, 'Aarattu Mundan' is a movie that touches topics that are sensitive enough to create ripples across the social and political spectrum.
'Aarattu Mundan' is a term that had sent shock waves in Kerala politics in the past. “The movie's title is apt for the storyline. As an actress, I have never experienced any tension. But after assuming the role of the screenplay writer I can sense the pressure now. However, I thank story writer Rajesh Illathu, producer M D Sibylal and director and my husband P Jai Dev for having faith in me and entrusting me with the task," she said at the event and assured that she would try her level best to finish the job perfectly well.
Perumbavoor G Raveendranath composes the songs penned by H Salam. While Jayan Poonkulam takes care of make-up, Nissar Rahmath manages the costume department.
