Thiruvananthapuram: The 51st Kerala State Film Awards has been announced here on Saturday with Jayasurya and Anna Ben winning the best actors.
'The Great Indian Kitchen', the highly acclaimed Jeo Baby directorial won the award for Best Movie.
The winners were announced by Saji Cheriyan, minister of Kerala Film Development Corporation, and Chalachitra Academy, in a special press meet.
While Jayasurya bagged the Best Actor award for his performance in 'Vellam', Anna Ben won the Best Actress award for her performance in 'Kappela'.

Noted actress and director Suhasini Maniratnam was the chairperson on the jury. Meanwhile, famous Kannada director P Sheshadri and filmmaker Bhadran had headed the initial juries. Around 80 movies that were released last year vied for the state film awards.
This was the first state award that was announced after introducing the revised set of rules.
