Kochi: Over the years, we have seen megastar Mammootty in various roles. And all of them he has done with poise and elan. As part of Mamaangam promotions, he was seen gracing the cover page of popular Malayalam magazine 'Vanitha'.

The photo is doing the rounds on social media and netizens have been taken aback with the brave and bold move by the star icon. The film is set in the 17th century in the backdrop of Mamaangam, an ancient festival. The film narrates the legend of 'Chavers' (suicide warriors) of feudal Kerala and their bid to overthrow the Zamorin ruler.
Directed by M Padmakumar, the film also stars Unni Mukundan, Kaniha, Anu Sithara, Tarun Raj Arora, Prachi Tehlan, Sudev Nair, Suresh Krishna, Manikuttan and Siddique among others.
Meanwhile, the release of the film, which was scheduled for November 21, has been postponed due to post-production reasons. Instead, the movie will open in theaters on December 12. According to reports, the visual effects work has forced the filmmakers to delay the release by about three weeks.
