Shah Rukh Khan's Diwali greeting offends a few, Shabana Azmi defends star

With festive season around the corner, Bollywood celebs are having a gala time. We reported how Amitabh Bachachan had hosted a party and stars had lit up the night. King Khan too had attended the starry night and was seen at the venue with his wife Gauri Khan.

Later, he took to his social networking sites to wish and his wish for his fans didn't seem to go well for many. The actor had on Sunday shared a monochromic picture featuring his wife Gauri Khan and youngest son AbRam Khan where all three of them can be seen sporting tilaks.

Many people from the Muslim community targetted him for breaking their traditional values. While some termed him as a 'fake Muslim', some slammed him off for his double standards.

Though SRK chose to remain silent, Shabana Azmi came forward and defended the star. Shabana Azmi slammed the trolls for the vicious attack by calling out 'rabid Islamists'.

This is not the first time Shah Rukh Khan has been on the receiving end of abuses. Last year, after he had tweeted a picture of his son celebrating Ganesh Puja, Muslims had called it a ‘sin’ and had abused and condemned him.

Earlier, Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan, daughter of another actor Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, was also abused on Instagram for wishing people on occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Popular Bengali actress and a TMC MP from West Bengal, Nusrat Jahan was insulted on Facebook for celebrating Durga Puja as it was ‘inappropriate’.
