Mammootty, Mohanlal inaugurate new building of Producers Association

It's very rarely that we get to see two big superstars together for an event. And it so happened at the inauguration of a new building in Kochi on Monday.

The Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) opened a new building at Arangath Cross Road, Pullepady in Kochi in an attempt to help the producers from the Malayalam film industry save cost. The inauguration was officially helmed by actors Mammootty and Mohanlal along with veteran actor Madhu.

The building will set up a facility to make the master copy ready for digital distributors like UFO and Qube. This facility will thereby help the producers to save charges levied by the digital distributors.

“I feel greatful to have come here and being part of the inaugural function,” said actor Madhu. He also emphasised the need of a producer. “With producer, no movies are born”, he stated.

Mammootty, taking over the dias, said, “There are many new producers coming up in the industry and each of them have their own struggling phase. A movie first goes into the hands of a producer and ends with him. So, it's definetly a good thing that an initiative ike this have happened.”

Mohanlal, on the other hand, applauded the association's team work and effort and said, “At this point, I would like to remember all the producers whom I have met in my 41 years of career. This association is the backbone of Malayalam film industry and wish each of the members a good luck.”

After the official inauguration, many producers including Maniyanpillai Raju, Liberty Basheer were felicitated.

Directors Kamal, Vinayan, Sibi Malayil were also spotted at the event.
