National Award winning filmmaker Jayaraj's 'Raudram 2018' will hit the screens in July. "The film is the seventh of the Navarasa series and is based on the catastrophic deluge that consumed hundreds of lives and devastated properties on immeasurable scale in Kerala last year," Jayaraj told Onmanorama.
The story, screenplay, dialogue and direction is by Jayaraj. He also penned the lyrics.
The camera is by Nikhil S Praveen, who earned the national award for best cinematography for Jayaraj's previous flick, 'Bhayanakam.'
Jinu Shobha has edited 'Raudram 2018' while the production design is carried out by Sunil Lavanya. Arun Pillai and Libin Mohanan are in charge of the make-up department and Suleiman Palakad is the costumer.
Ranganath Ravee is maneuvering the sound design and Boney M Joy is taking care of sound mixing.
The film starring Renji Panicker, KPAC Leela, Binu Pappu and Sabitha Jayaraj in prominent roles has been bankrolled by Dr. Sureshkumar Muttath under the banner Prakriti Pictures.
'Raudram 2018' comes after Renji Panicker starrer 'Bhayanakam' released last year. The film had bagged three awards for best direction, best adapted screenplay and cinematography.
'Bhayanakam' had won two major awards at the 18th Imagine India Film Festival 2019 in Madrid through the film's director Jayaraj for the best screenplay writer (adapted) and Renji Panicker for the best actor. The film also won the award for the best cinematography at the 2019 Beijing International Film Festival.
