The Tamil film 'Ratsasan' which released in 2018 received applauds for its engaging screenplay and intense making. The movie is all set to be remade in Telugu with director Ramesh Varma helming the project.
The first-look poster of the Telugu remake titled 'Rakshasudu' has been released online on the occasion of Ugadi and features the lead stars Bellamkonda Sreenivas and Anupama Parameswaran.
Featuring the actors with a little girl, the movie is slated to hit screens by Eid.
While Sreenivasan will reprise the role of Vishnu Vishal from the original, Anupama Parameswaran will be seen in the role played by Amala Paul.
Apparently, Ramesh Varma saw the Tamil film and was impressed with its content. He then recommended it to Satyanarayana, who eventually bagged the Telugu remake rights.
Ramesh Varma felt that Anupama would perfectly fit the role of a young teacher, with her body language, expressions and acting skills making her the ideal choice for female lead. “Since Anupama hasn’t been portrayed in the role of a teacher so far, she believed that the role has something interesting to offer. Moreover, she loved the Tamil version and felt that it is a coming-of-age psychological thriller.”
The actress who made her debut in Nivin Pauly starrer 'Premam' went on to Telugu after bagging quite a number of movie there. In Malayalam she was last seen in Dulquer Salmaan starrer 'Jomonte Suvishesham' directed by Sathyan Anthikad.
