Tragic scene at Vijay Sethupathi's Alappuzha shoot

It was a moment of grief for 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi and his fans as the old lady who sought his help on the sets passed away.

Earlier, on Tuesday, a video was doing rounds which saw an aged woman standing behind Sethupathi who was surrounded by fans. While the woman asked financial help to buy medicines for herself, it took no time for Sethupathi to call his manager and take out a few notes and hand them over to the lady.

The video was widely circulated on social media but reportedly the woman fell unconscious a few minutes after this on the set itself. Although the woman was immediately rushed to Taluk Hospital, Changancherry, she couldn't be saved.

The incident happened on the sets of Sethupathi's upcoming movie 'Maamanithan' which was going on at Alappuzha, Kerala.

Interestingly, the deceased woman, Kavalam Achamma had appeared in a few movies including 2004 Jayaram-starrer 'Njan Salperu Ramankutty'.
