Actress Jaya Prada had arrived at Kanteerava Studio in Bengaluru to pay homage to actor-politician Ambareesh who had passed away on Saturday. A video showing her getting into a heated argument is now going viral.
In the viral video, Jaya Prada is seen losing her cool and is yelling at the police. Reports are rife that DCP Annamalai Kuppuswamy asked Jayaprada to sit inside her car and she felt slighted. Reportedly, the cops were having a tough time to manage the crowd and hence the police asked her so.
But it did not go down well with her and she is heard saying in the video, “The police has to give me protection. He might be DCP, but I am also an ex-MP. More than that I am a lady. I need protection."
Jaya Prada and Ambareesh had worked together in the 1999 Kannada film 'Habba'.
Earlier, security has been tightened for the state funeral of Kannada superstar M.H. Ambareesh on Monday at the Kanteerava Studio. The funeral was delayed by two hours as the flower-bedecked cortege, carrying the body in a glass casket, took more than three hours to reach the Studio.
Ambareesh, 66, died on Saturday night at a private hospital in the city. Thousands of people, including celebrities and political leaders, bid an emotional farewell to icon. Stars Srinath, Jai Jagadish, Shiva Rajkumar, Puneeth Rajkumar, Upendra and Jaggesh, Telugu actor Mohan Babu and multi-lingual actress Jaya Prada were among the many from the film world who attended the funeral.
